I once had a very German meal with some close friends.

Sauerkraut, artichokes, sundried tomatoes, and other severely bitter stuff. There was no mercy... there was no single sweet thing.

We told them about it years later and had a huge laugh about it, but I was literally gagging and crying on the inside all the way through the meal.

Uh, anything my mom cooks? Seriously, I was out of high school before I learned that there are other ways to prepare veggies than "boiled until grey."

Chinese restaurant in Helensburgh - it was bitter, twisted and put me in mind of dog food even though I've never tasted dog food.

The Banshee and I spent the rest of the night in agony as we evacuated our guts.

The first time I joined my in-laws for dinner. Obviously, I was the new "boy friend" and Ria's parents had to get to know me. Ria's mom decided we'd have pizza and she would make it herself.

It was very tasty. Real good. But the crust was as hard as concrete. Up to this day I tease my mother in law with that. "We're having pizza again?"

Pour soul. Imagine having me for a son-in law...

I love my mother-in-law.

Gotta be USMC boot camp. Gotta be those heaping plates of butter beans they made us eat. To this day I gag when I see them.

the Ardincaple hotel in Helensburgh, i decided to have the vegetarian option which was vegetable wraps with a tomato sauce , it turned out the only veg in it was green and red peppers with the skin and pith still attached and the tomato sauce was a tin of plum tomatoes blitzed and heated up .disgusting haven't been back since

My worst meal ever was the mystery meat they tried to pass off as "steak" on "steak night" in the meal hall when I was in college.

They overcooked, then let it lay there in bins until it was grayish in color and liver like in texture. I'd always opt for mac -n- cheese with some salad on steak night. Still makes me nauseous to think about it. Yuck!

Gary, you didn't go to Rutgers, did you? Sounds like Brower Commons food to me...

Mine would have to be a drink. A gallon of Spanada was consumed between me and a few friends. Back in the day (1972) when you could drink and drive with no problems  . I drove home but could not get out of my car before upchucking all over my steering wheel. MMMMMMMM...good. I cannot drink even good wine to this day. Disgusting smell. And I live smack dab in the middle of wine country.

Was that descriptive enough.

Reminds me of the two friends who saw a leaking barrel and wanted to know what fluid it was that came out of it. They smelled it, tasted it, even swallowed a bit but neither of them could tell it was jet fuel. The next day, one friend calls the other. "Have you farted yet?", "Not yet.", "Don't do it! I'm calling from Canada."

hahah robbie!

My worst meal was at a restaurant that I often still eat at.
I am a forgiving person or possibly just a push-over.

I had my usual Grand Marnier shrimp with won ton and a side ginger sauce salad.
The shrimp tasted like it just did some dumbell curls and it's wveins were spraying locker room seaosterone onto my tongue with a little too much mayonaise.

I did not leave my usual 10 dollar tip for the oriental hotties that serve me so gently

Hmmm, Must've been either the chicken-sandwich I once had near Albany on the south-coast of Australia... instead of using butter, they thought that splattering in *some* (read: 2 gallons) french dressing might do an equally good job taste-wise... or my #2 entry might well be some *chicken*-meal I had at a roadside-stand in Thailand... must've been a special chicken, as the meat was red like beef and tasted very unlike anything I ever had before... I'm still guessing whether I had Lassie or Tarzan's Cheetah that day  .

Seeth Iffrika is just fine thanks... we just had the ANC presidential vote and our most corrupt candidate won. Jacob Zuma is running the party now and will most likely be the next president. Unless of course the charges of rape and corruption stick.

Man, I love my country... :D

Yeah, that made the news here a couple weeks back. (Thought I'd mention that in light of our recent coversations about how little media coverage there is on S. Africa).

I went to this mediterranian restaurant called Anton's. I had Kibbi... which tasted like meatloaf made with gristle.

Other than that, my ex-inlaws once tried to kill me with something called "souse".
