After my previous success, I decided to have one other of my songs, "Man I'm Gonna Miss Montana", recorded in Nashville. The first, "Get Your Act Together", was a tad expensive, with both a band and vocals. So, this time I had them record vocals over an excellent backing track I used for my version, at about 1/3 the cost of the first one. Whoopee, another winner!

What they came up with is here. Be sure and listen to the last verse for a "surprise". The page also includes my first studio song, "Get Your Act Together". Click large black arrow to listen and red arrow to download an MP3 file of the song,

For comparison, here's my Montana version released years ago. I sent it to the demo studio to show what the lyrics and melody should be. Listen here.

A bit of background on the Montana song. I visited my cousin in Dillon, MT for 2 weeks in the summer for about a dozen years. Came up with this song as a result. He got to hear my version, but unfortunately not the studio one, since he passed away in late 2020. I think he would have liked it, especially the last verse about a bar in Dillon. :) BTW, the backing track for the song was created by the incredible Band-in-a-Box PC program with some additional editing by me.

Watcha think of the pro version?

Hope 2023 is treating you well so far. Stay tuned for some other studio versions. When? When I can get my old "no energy" body enthused for it. :)

Thanks for listening,

Thanks Ralph. They did your song justice. It is always great to get to the finished product. Many (most?) projects never make it to that point. There are always the should of/ could of tweaks that linger. But when you make a commitment to put a bow on a project and actually tie that up, then hopefully the satisfaction with the product becomes a jewel of accomplishment!! Congratulations.

Byron,

Many thanks for the thumbs up!! I'm sure glad I decided to "wrap and put a bow on this one". 100% happy with it.

Hope all is well with ya! :)
