OK, OK I had to pay a lot to get it done, but I'm glad I did it! For several years I've wanted to get one of my songs recorded by pro musicians to see how it sounds. So, I finally got around to it and had it done. I love how it sounds!! Maybe I am a songwriter! :)

Here's the demo version:
https://hogtimemusic.bandcamp.com/track/get-your-act-together-studio-version

For comparison, here's what was on my CD released years ago (and recorded on my AW1600):

Note: For both of the above links you can listen (click arrow) and download (click "Free Download").

Hope 2022 is treating everyone well so far and you're playing some music.

Thanks to Robbie for keeping this site running! =D>

How exciting Ralph! I imagine the first listen was prideful emotion. The players did your song well, but you can't make a silk purse if you start from a sow's ear. The song itself is a solid ol' time country tune that you wrote.

keep on plucking!! Safe travels.

Thanks, Byron! Yep, it really was a thrill to hear it the first time. Could only be exceeded by hearing it on the radio. Don't think I have enough $$$ for that, though. :)

We put out a disc some years ago (2007) and recently the local radio station has put a song from it into circulation when they feature local music 3 times per day. I have not heard it my self but several people have heard it and have told us. I will have to tune in to that station more often if i want to hear it.

Another tune from that disc got some play when we first released the project, and i did hear that once on air.

Find a guy who has a country music show once a week and pitch the song to him. Good song along with a good story (yours) makes for great human interest. Perfect for radio.

Great fun, Ralph. 8)

That's a pretty slick demo they put together, and a fine, old school country song they had to work with. Of course, your original version has its own charm. 8)

Byron: Good idea on local radio station. However, I don't know how they would announce it, since I didn't sing or play on it. Any ideas?

JM: Thanks for the thumbs up! It sure isn't modern country. :)

Maybe a local Saturday or Sunday night weekly country show on a local station??? Tell the guy/gal your story - -- travelling the country six months of the year; making music for many years; admiration for the Nashville sound; your decision to pursue your bucket list to hear your music done in the Nashville style; give him your version and the Nashville mix and see what he/she might do to help you fulfill your dream!!!

Hi Ralph,

It's very nice to see you that excited about it! Must be a strange experience.

I'll listen to both when I get the chance. Girls are all asleep now...

Hello Ralph!

Those Nashville Cats certainly did record an excellent version of your song.
"Nashville Cats....been playing since they'se baby's" ....John Sebastian.

Your original recording is great! Pure Hogtime music at its best!

All my best to you,
Randy

Ralph! That was excellent!! They interpreted your song really well. I went and listened to your version and I have to say the studio put a spit shine on an already great tune. Now get yerself over to Nashville and start peddling that song. Yeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaa!

Many thanks, RZ, for the thumbs up! I really liked your "spit shine" comment. :) I'm a long ways from Nashville, Maybe I can hire you to to pitch it to the labels. :)
