Wow! Years have gone by since anybody has posted anything on this topic, but I might as well try.

My brother and I had recorded an entire album on an AW2816's hard drive and afterwards needed some space for new music. So, the obvious choice was to backup a bunch of songs to clear space, we burned about 9 songs onto CD-Rs successfully. I wanted to make sure it worked, so I deleted and restored a song to verify and it worked. We backed up the entire album and erased the songs off the hard drive. Fast forward 4 years, I am currently working with new gear and wish to re record a few songs off this album. The easiest solution is to redo the tracks that needed to be redone and use the tracks that were perfect and mix it together on a PC. I got all the tracks I can redone, and I need some of the older vocal and guitar tracks to finish the songs. The problem is when I try to restore any song that had a multiple disc backup, I get an error, various errors. The errors usually include "NO SONG" after inserting disc 2, "DEVICE ERROR" randomly after inserting a disc, or "UNABLE TO READ DISC" randomly. Why is this happening to me? What can I do to fix this? Does the OS update help with problems like this? Somebody please help!

Hi bh and welcome to the forum.

There could be many things causing this. First thing I would like to know: are the CD's physically readable? Put them in a PC and see if you can read the file(s) by copying them to the harddisc. If that doesn't work, it's probably all over, sad as it is.
