I have always been interested in numbers, patterns etc. One of the reasons why I enjoy music.

I've always liked music in non-standard time signatures, so, anything different from 3/4 and 4/4.

Examples:

Seven Days (Sting, 5/4)
Take Five (Dave Brubeck Quartet, 5/4)
Rendes-vous 6:02 (U.K. partly 7/4)
Turn It On (Genesis, partly 13/4)

Do you know of any more examples? Please type it in if you happen to know one (or a few).

I was in the music room of our school a few days back, and I was playing a bit with one of the low-budget keyboards. I discovered that the drum computer had a 5/4 rhythm in it, while mine has not. I'm jealous :-)

Cheers!

hi there,

one of my favorite (not so normal) time signatures is 7/8 ...

give a listen to santorini by yianni (live at the acropolis version is simply amazing !)

his band is full of awesome talent ... if you get a chance to catch a live show, you will not be disappointed ...

rock on :headbang:
