Hi all, MSG

I think I will be visiting this section a lot in the near future...

Is there a piece of PC software that will 'watch' the MIDI info coming in from a MIDI device? Is this something MIDIOx can do?

I want to use the G as a control surface, but will need to capture the codes to program the DAW software (I think). Also is there a way to capture the MIDI information / codes being SENT?

Thanks!

I'm no Geno, but I have done this before by setting up a new song in Sonar and executing a given command at a certain time (ie. play the G at the start of measure 4) while sonar was recording. Later I'd go back and see what happened about that time in the event window. Some stuff was obvious some was about several hundred digits of hex code 8-[

Thanks Mr Bill

I just bought the MIDISport 2x2, I hope it turns out to be worth the money.

I'm using Reaper right now. It got an amazing review with Sound On Sound and I can say that personally I am blown away by this shareware software.

WOOO FRIKIN HOOO!!!! :)

Reaper works very very well with the G. You select the Sonar Remote Template then program and store the control mapping. I have Solo, Volume and Transport control.

VERY cool. :)
