I'm trying to learn the melody/synth line on guitar. I am thinking it will sound great with the right guitar sound.

I just found and downloaded Love Games off of iTunes...we'll give a listen today. I downloaded the original which is a 6 minute and some change tune. There was also a remix of about 4 minutes.

Okay, I just listened to it and it turns out to be a live version. Is this the arrangement we want, Rob? The most complicated things are the bass and drums it seems to me. I think we have the patches to cover the synth. Too, I think this tune deserves some percussion...timbas I think along with shaker and maybe wood sticks.

I'll send everyone the studio version from the CD. There are lots of versions (different lengths) so we have to make sure everyone prepares based on the same version.

I've been listening to the studio version from their first album (7mins something). Chord wise it's a pretty straight-forward and I have the riff now too.

I've just been playing a 7th fret bar with one finger on the A string 9th fret, then playing the corresponding E/E7 also at the 7th position. The Em7 works best up there too.

Yep - that's the version. I used that one as a guide track when I made an attempt to cover it.

I've also used this open one a bit:

Code:
|    |    |    |    |    |
|    |    |    o    |    o
|    |    |    |    |    |
