There is a review of the AW1600 in this months Guitarist magazine.
Good review 4.5 out of 5.
Their only dislike was that the display could not be tilted and a small moan about not having an onboard guitar tuner.
Apart from that they loved it

I put a sample of a guitar playing the open strings into my sample library, so I can call it up into any song and quickly tune....

good trick

I find the simplest thing is to put a tuner in line if going direct.
Doesn't seem to add any noise and can be checked very quickly.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

I almost always tune my acoustics with a tuning fork. That's the way I learned when I was 7 years old.....old habits do not die quickly.

Electrics, nah.....electronic tuner all the way.

I have my G tilted upward using several long wrist pads stacked under the back edge. No more glare, easy to see.

I use a Johnson J-Station (modeler, effects) with a built-in tuner.

Next!?

If that's all GP can complain about, we're in great shape, folks.

Heh heh heh...I've got my 1600 on a barstool--No, really!! Took the backrest off'n it and dropped the seat to it's lowest position...The seat upon which I sit is an identical barstool, raised up, backrest intact...No idea what the folks at that bar are sitting on these days...

Brilliant idea unless someone sneeks in and pitch shifts your samples

Small likelyhood since I don't know wher you live exactly

I just stick with my electronic tuner but not inline. If I am using a DI box most have a second output and you can run one to the tuner. Alternately an A/B switch pedal can route one to the tuner and turn off the output to the amp or recorder as well.

So many ways to skin a cat but even more recipes if you know where to look

I have to tell you all one of my favourite musician jokes here. The lead guitarist and the bassist are fighting in the dressing room before the show. The manager pulls them apart and asks what the problem is. The bassist says, "That swine just detuned one of the strings on my bass!" The manager says, "No problem - there's still time to retune it before the show starts." "That's just it," says the bassist, "He won't tell me which string he's detuned..."

Apologies to bassists everywhere. I play bass myself but still thought it was a great joke!

I recently started hanging out again with an old buddy of mine from the 70's, that I've barely seen over the last 25-30 years. Back in the 70's, me and two of the other guys in our mutual gang of friends used to play a lot of guitar stuff at parties, campfires, etc. Lot's of Eagle's tunes, and America tunes. That kind of thing. We played as a trio ( 3 acoustic guitars ), and tried to do 3 part harmonies etc.

So, my old buddy is reminiscing the other day about the music he used to hear our acoustic trio play back in the 70's. He says.....you guys were always tuning. I say.....really? He says.....oh yea, it was nuts. You'd play a song, and then spend five minutes tuning up before you'd play the next one. I'd forgotten, but he was right. None of us owned an electronic tuner, and I think we used to use a tuning fork to help us out.

I laughed and said......well, I still don't know how to tune by ear at all....but I now own about 20 different electronic tuners ( stand-alone and onboard ) to do the trick, and it only takes about 15 seconds now to tune up.

He says.....thank God!

Another story: for the last song of a gig he suddenly took my ES when a string of his tele was broken. He soon realized this baby was tuned in openG ...
