Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Thanks Geno, for the compliments on my song contribution.

I had the pleasure of listening to all 3 discs yesterday during a 180 minute round-trip drive out to see one of my clients.

I'm floored by what I heard.

I was struck by how 'good' sounding the submissions were. For the most part, a lot of the recording quality sounded very 'professional'. The range of styles was also impressive. Time and time again, I heard songs that deserved praise for their performance quality and originality.

Maybe it's the newness of the 2005 comp CD that has me thinking this way, but I do feel that there is a noticeable sound quality inprovement over the 2004 effort in that virtually every performance was well recorded.

I have a wide taste in music, and listening to the G-comp was like ear-candy. I really enjoyed the range of styles, from rootsy to electronic.

There is so much good music on those discs, it's hard in a way to put it all into words.

I think if any potential shopper for an outboard DAW under $1000 US were to hear the new G-comp CD's...they would all rush to buy an AW16G, based on the high quality of home recorded music they would hear on the 2005 G-comp Discs.

I can't think of a better testament to the quality of the recorder, than the quality of the music that it's owners have created.

I still want to do a detailed Comp CD review, but I want to listen to it more before writing one up.

Yes, thank you, Geno. That compliment from a colleague means a lot to me.

Whenever I finally receive my comp package, I plan to immerse myself in it for many hours (weeks). I'm looking at it as an excellent tutorial for improving my craft and gaining some inspiration through others' efforts.
We all have something to share here, and I plan on learning all I can.

I'll certainly be posting some of my favorite comp moments in the coming weeks.
