yeah I know...its a chix bike.....at least its not pink.

believe it or not, the wife cant drive it.....shes 5'4, and its too high, and that dam oil tank rubs her in all the wrong places.
shes getting one eventually though.....maybe the sportster L, designed for the ladies.
But knowing her, shell buy a better faster bike than me just to piss me off.
her dam snowmobile goes 115mph, mine goes 106.
Hers isnt meant for jumping though, so I got the better deal.

I'd love to have a Harley. I was a "dirtrider" for many years. Had a Ossa 250 and upgraded to a Husky 360wr. Got the Observed trials bug but never acted on it. Maybe it's not too late to start riding again.

Aw man!

Firstly, thon new Harley that is about to be the apple of your eye, Jay, it's droolworthy. I don't ride bikes - my 'pal' took me on one when 16 and drove seven miles along a tiny winding lochside road at breakneck speed leaving me sick with fear and I've never been on one since - but I love their sleek beauty as much as the next.

Thing is, like many other things in this world, the American art of Harley and Indian defines the genre. Well, certainly for me and I have little compunction about confessing to hopeless bias in America's favour.

I think it must be something to do with the delightfully romantic notion of riding for vast distances to where ever you please. Something that is physically impossible in Britain.

Geno: the pics are missing Even right clicking to get at the properties only reveals wee 24x24 pixel intentions. I'd love for you to repost them.

I'll try today Lys......the interior is 50's style roll and pleat. It's the only thing I didn't do on the car. I built the motor, transmission, rear end, did all the body work, paint, and mechanicals. It took 3 years of not watching TV to do.

Thanks.......I had a company in California make the corregated period correct exhaust pipes. I made the carb /aircleaner adapters in my machine shop on the lathe. The foglights are original Indian police bike parts. E-bay provided most of the other stuff. The bags and seat leather were made here in cowtown. It gets a crowd wherever it goes. The radiator is the only dead giveaway and it's suprising how many "knowledgeable" motor jocks miss that!

Machining, wrench twisting, paint and body - wow! I'm impressed.

Sold my last bike back in '92, I just felt like I had cheated death too many times and the odds were becoming less and less in my favor.

I've toyed with the idea of a real layed-back roadhog, but G.A.S. always gets the better of me when I have the bucks.

I love to chop tops too.........Haven't done one in awhile. That was my forte when I was doing sheet metal work. Making "impossible" sheet metal repairs and chopping car tops.

All that stuff you see on American Hot Rod is stuff I like to do. It's gotten very expensive for materials. Paint alone goes up seems like 10% a month. I paid $175/quart for the paint on Tweedie Bird. The same paint today is nearly $400/qt. That's just the color coat. The primer , surfacer, clearcoat plus the hardeners and catalyst are extra. Even wash thinner is over $20/gallon now.

It's much cheaper to buy a Hot Rod already built. (you just don't get what you want exactly)

Jeeze.......I thought Aviation and music equipment was expensive.

ive never had a sweet hot rod, couple whacky 4x4's, but no cool cars.

The wifes volvo S80 is pretty sweet.
but its no yellow classic rod.
