This looks like a very good deal for those of you state -side.

the card in the back looks to be a LAN card, from yamaha< which would allow you to communicate with a computer. i suspect that the 2400 would then become a control surface for a software based recording program. i am going to read up on the card to make sure that is what it is. You can choose to not hook up to the card (or you can remove the card of course) and use the machine as a standalone. Seeing as this is a buy it now listing, don't wait around, or it may be gone.

the learning curve is not steep at all if you have skills on any other AW series machine. Good luck.

Couldn't find an image that looked exactly like the card in the ebay pic, but it is an mLAN card. i would assume since it is in there you could use it. there is a page on the yamaha site that lists all card compatible, but i don' have the link right now and no time to look for it.

If you are interested, be assured that the card is not a Mod to the machine. so it will work as a standalone, assuming the add is not misleading and the machine is in good repair. the card would have been worth some coin in the day. sweetwater lists a yamaha mLAN card that looks very similar but with seemingly different looking I/O ports, but it is no longer available. the posting was left for "info" purposes. the card in the listing appears to be of similar vintage, so I suspect it would be unavailable too.
