We have a black bear that has visited our backyard 3 times since April 28….approximately 170 lbs and almost 6 ft tall. I immediately reported it to the DEP (bear control division) but they haven’t responded. My next door neighbor reported also on May 25 after we took these photos and video in my backyard and we still haven’t had a response. I guess these government agency employees are more interested in collecting a paycheck without actually having to do any actual work.

This bear is untagged. I would like to be able to call someone who can tranquilize, tag, and relocate the bear. Local cops have a tendency to kill nuisance animals. There is no need for that.

Wow !! I`d love to have wildlife in my back garden, eh...but maybe something not so lethal.
Fantastic pics though.
I`m gonna start taking my camera out with me again.

I wonder what bear meat would taste like.

;-)

You can put some cheddar in the garden... it'll probably never come back.

;-)

The biggest animals that I ever saw in my garden was a 4 inch frog and a small porcupine.

Boy if some agency had to respond to bears up in Alaska, nothing would ever get done. Between the moose and the bear up there, everyone just leaves each other alone, says good morning and goes about their business. There is the occassional garbage can clean up...LOL But most of the garbage cans are these bear proof things..

I once saw this little old lady smacking a bear with her screen door and saying the most horrible things to it..hahahah She had a mouth like a sailor. It then walked away from her door and onto the street and continued its commute amongst cars and people. What an interesting site. I called my mom on my phone and video chatted with her while it was going on. She had never seen a bear in person and really enjoyed the video call :) thanks Mr. Bear!

PS. If you get in a tussle with him, kick his ass. This is not the bear you play dead with. This bear rarely is agressive towards humans. They might snort and grunt to tell you to back off... If he's starving, you're dinner. But otherwise they'll just go about their business.
