Hi,

So when I'm done working with projects, I back them up from my AW1600 to my PC - connect via USB, and drag and drop the folders, slow transfer but it works fine. Tonight I needed to move 2 projects from the PC back to the AW. I connect via USB and cut and paste the folders from PC back to the AW. After the transfer is done, I look in the AW song list... and the projects I transferred in are not there! Just in case, I then shutdown the unit and restarted it. Still not there. At this point I'm cursing up a storm, since I cut and paste the folders in rather than copying them to the AW. I think I lost my files.

Any tips? If I transferred these folders to the AW, then where the heck did they go?

I foresee a long afternoon of backing everything on the AW up to my PC and then initializing the unit, but before I get to that, maybe someone can be my savior and tell me I didn't just lose my projects.

When you transfer them back from the pc did you put them in the Transport Folder, that`s were the stuff is supposed to go I`m sure.
Hope you get sorted.

1) What folder on the 1600 did you paste to?
2) If you look at that folder via USB do you see the 2 restored song folders?
3) They must have been pasted somewhere. Do a search on both the AW drive and your PC drive to find them.
4) A "cut and paste" would be no faster than a copy. And, as you've found out, a copy would leave you with the original in case something went wrong.

T.Mac: Only individual WAV files get put in the Transport folder. Not the whole "song folder" of a song, which get put in either the Song1 or Song2 folders.

Another possibility: If you're running Windows, look in the Recycle Bin for the lost songs.

Yeah I see that now I`ve took the time to read it properly Ralph  I thought he was talking about the songs wav files.
Good luck in finding them anyway.
