Hi guy`s, the audio on my fader 8 is cutting out completely when it is raised to the max +6 position, when lowered a little to say +3 it comes back on, has anyone had any problems similar?
I`m going to try some contact cleaner tomorrow and see if that`s the problem.
I`m hoping it`s not a sign that my machine is on the way out.
Having said that if it does pack in I would go and get another one, but at the moment I`m just hoping it`s a bit of dirt causing the problem.

My guess is that the contact cleaner might work. If it doesn't, someone else had a thread about buying a new fader from Yammy and installing it.

I doubt seriously it indicates your unit is about totally fail. :)

I agree with Hog about total fail... It's usually just a fader problem.
Sometimes it helps if u move a fader 20-30 times fast to min/max value, even without contact cleaner.
If you have a "dust off" spray, I'd try that first, and then contact cleaner.

A friend of mine had a 1600. He was having fader trouble on his number 8 also. He didn't do anything about it and 2 weeks later he wrecked his car. The next day he was walking up to a store, tripped, fell and broke his arm. Over the weekend he was visiting his girlfriend and she broke up with him. When he went to see his parents and told them his girlfriend left him, his parents disowned him. The next day at work he lost some paperwork and got fired. Then he lost his apartment and was homeless. He tried to sell the 1600, but because of the number 8 fader, nobody wanted it. He was carrying it around with him in his shopping cart when a truck rounded the corner too close and smashed the basket and 1600 into a 1000 pieces. With nothing left he decided to end it all. He looked around and saw something shiny buried out back behind the music store. It was kind of an off white plastic piece that slid up and down connected to a metal plate. When he picked it up, he couldn't believe it. Yep, the metal piece cut him, he got infected and passed on.

The moral of this story. Don't read my posts. :-"

I'm a little slow in my old age. When you said you were having fader trouble, I wish I had said: "Does your wife know?"

Dayam.
