My AW1600 has a 220/240 V power supply. If I was to buy a 110V power supply, does that mean that I can use the machine in the States without any further transformer ?

I would guess so, what matters is the DC output, and the polarity of the sleeve from both transformers must match on the end that plugs into the AW

My AW has a 100 - 240 Volt range and switches automatically. If you look out for that you'll only need one and never have to worry about the voltage nor the frequency of the power cycle again.

Quite right you are, Dirk. My power supply is also 110/240V. Very handy, as it means that the AW1600 can be used worldwide. Thanks to both of you. I must now check all my other gear with AC/DC transformers to see what else is universal.

And if there's no power at all we can always ask Kwasele if he still has that generator he had running on sunflower oil.
