Hi Geno,

We've redesigned our site in celebration of a big greasy new vocal mic -- the HM-7U. You may have already heard about it on some of the online forums.

As an existing KEL mic user, you qualify for a private $50 pre-production discount. We expect our first production run to be ready in about 10 days but the offer is good until September 30.

I apologize for sending you an e-mail about this, but the pre-production price is a special for past customers like you so I'm not advertising it to the general public.

The HM-7U is very affordable, yet features a glossy sounding K47-style capsule (like later Neumann U47s) so it's great on vocals of all kinds. To keep prices low and quality high, we went with a premium-grade FET circuit, instead of cheap tube components.

Get all the details here: http://www.kelaudio.com/hm7uprivateoffer.html

Please let me know if you have any questions.Sincerely,

Kelly Dueck, for KEL Audio Inc.

Got this info from the Kell audio website comparing this mic to the famous vintage Neuman U-47.

Doing some research on the Neuman website , I finally found a German frequency and polar plot to compare the Kell mic to.

Although the freq plots are similar , the hypercardiod patterns are nearly identical. This pattern I believe would make a superior vocal mic. The real test would be how the two compared in proximity effect. Both mics do have unique coloration in the vocal freqs.

Not having a hypercardoid in my locker , I'm gonna order this one just because of the pattern. I have a funny feeling this would make a great guitar cab mic as well.

Probably as close to a U47 as I'm ever gonna get.

They are on sale for $250 until the end of this month. Includes shock mt. and flight case.

That is kind of creepy, but not nearly as creepy as the performance my Lions gave yesterday. Then again, what did I expect....Hell hasn't frozen over yet. :D

Man, that mic description sounds nice. The price is right and I've heard very good things about the Kell price/performance ratio.....unfortunately no disposable cash to buy one right now.

Daughter #3 dinged my car pulling into a parking space (yeah, the OTHER stationary vehicle must have surprised her :? ), a ding mind you....$1,200 to replace the front headlight ballast assembly ! Just a few plastic parts are cracked but no aftermarket parts are available and no used or remanufactured parts available locally.

Kids! Doh!
