Has anyone used powertab ? It is supposed to be free software to help reading and writing tab. The site is http://www.power-tab.net

Just curious to know if anybody tried it as I have been looking for something like it.

I am always cautious of downloading free software unless someone knows it is OK.

PowerTab is VERY good. It shows you sheet music with all the details(slurs, dynamics, articulation marks) as well as the tab, you can also play the music back and change the playback speed to learn really complex passages.

Its very hard to find PowerTab files as they are rather illegal being so accurate. But its the best tool out there. :)
