The bad ?

A little noise in the gain knob on one when turned. I'll probably go away with use and twistin as It got a 100% better when I turned it a couple of dozen times. The same unit's VU meter light is out. Bulb??

The good !

They both work VERY well and have enough gain with a condenser mic to put the G's meter into the =6 db area with the G's internal preamp gain knobs turned all the way down. There is more than enough tube warmth for a beginner to experiment with.

Does 75 bucks + postage for the pair sound fair ?

I'm thinnin out the corral a bit.

Would 25 bucks cover the cost of postage?

Amsterdam address? From what I can figure out the postage for about 15 pounds is 25 to 50 bucks but I don't understand all the surcharges and crap. I'll call the post office and find out for sure. drop me a note when you get up.

Gouda breath that is.

When we visit my mother in law, I eat some Stilton before we leave.

Well, I think I'm finally finished with tiling the bathroom and can start devoting more time to recording --

Robbie, did you get these preamps? I have a couple and have been very happy with them. I'm going to try to upload a song I did with them from a recent live-recording of a Praise-Band concert I did for a friend.

If you didn't get them. Are they still for sale, Mr. Skygod?

I haven't got them yet, but I'm convinced I can find a solution to the voltage problem.

Do you think you can solve the problem with a clever wall-wart power adapter since it's all external?

Wall-wart is the "american" name for a power adapter where the power transformer is plugged into the wall.

Ah, OK. In that case I say yes. We have 230 V here, so I need to change that into 110 V, or have a transformer that goes directly from 230 VAC to 16 VAC (external power supply). I can't imagine it's that hard.

I bought a mixer in the US (Yammy MG16/4). Never suspected that it wouldn't have a universal power supply. Got a transformer to knock 220 down to 110, works fine. Watch the wattage...I can't use phantom or it will such it dry and makes terrible noise.

That's pretty cool.

I figure this would be a HUGE market for things like this.
