Not too sure who we still have on the forum from the U.K. but thought I would give anyone who may be interested the first shout at purchasing my Yamaha AW1600.
If not I have a few phone calls to make and a local music store guy seems to be showing a little interest.
Having just acquired the AW4416 for the extra faders and extra midi capabilities to link to my laptop, the AW1600 has just been put away and not being used, I`ve tried to implement it into my set up but it`s basically just taking up space, needless to say it`s in great condition and does`nt have any problems like scratchy pots or sticky faders, and does everything it`s supposed to, I also still have the manual for it, sadly I no longer have the original box but it will be packaged well.
Should anyone be interested you can message me on the forum and I will give you my email address and my mobile number.
I`m not looking to make a lot out of it, anything sensible will be fine.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

T.

I keep my 1600 around for a couple of reasons.

1. It is much easier to take out of the studio if you want to track something elsewhere.

2. It has a set of presets on the inputs that can be used to great advantage. The 4416 may have this feature, but the 2400 doesn't. Hold down the input select button and a screen will appear that gives option to see a library of presets. These preset combine EQ, Dynamic and EFF insert to achieve some distinct sound profiles. sometimes I will take a performance (usually guitar) and send it out the AUX out of my 2400 >> into a 1600 input >> apply the desired preset bank >> send the treated track ( from the STEREO OUt ) back to a pair of inputs on the 2400, including these inputs in a mixdown. I never experienced any latency issues. for me this is a useful tool, as a modelling box.

3. The pads have been of use to me on occasion. the 2400 has no pads. The 1600 allows for a grid assignment of the pads, allowing you to synch the pads to a tempo map and thereby "fly-in" samples placed on the pads. I used that a lot when i mixed on the 1600. I must admit i haven't used this utility as much since i got the 2400, but have on occasion. This ability to sync to the tempo map is not available on the G.

Along with the USB connectivity >> lots of options. I am glad i kept mine. I have midi'd them up so the one controls the transport of the other, so you can mix beyond 8 tracks should you wish.

I realize you have a computer based setup, but reasons 1 & 2 have made me glad i kept the smaller machine.

My two cents!
