The good Doctor was always willing to embrace the latest tricknology. At the 1984 World's Fair, in the Jazz and Gospel Tent, in Festival Park, they had a round stage that spun, so they could set up the next act while the previous act was playing, eliminating a big "change-over" time between acts. I was there watching one of the Indian Tribes finish up their set (I think it was Golden Eagles, but might have been Wild Tchoupitoulas) performing their last song, when the stage began turning even while they were in the middle of their chant. Dr. John and his band emerged from the other side and just continued the song; many of the Indians just stepped on over to sit in with him. Eventually, the chant evolved into a rhythmic interlude, which led to a Walk on Guilded Splinters. Transcendent moment, that one. Desitively Bonnaroo
