Well, it's not official yet, but I thought I'd let my buddies in on the buzz.

A rock group from Paris contacted me...they know one of the guys in my band...and they asked if they could come down for DijonStock as well. Complete 5 piece band that plays much of what the rest of us do. This is kind of a big deal because these guys are damn good from what I hear. It will expand our potential play list and give us a wider dimension (we have at last count about 5 bassists!) Of particular note is their keyboardist is supposed to be phenominal. We'll see. The band leader is to confirm in the next couple of days.

The more souls the marrier.

It will put me in the shadow as a musician, though.

Oh wait... more time for Drivel!

David, I would love that. I only hope their expectations of some of us, or at least, of me, is not too high.

What the heck. If they comment on my playing I'll feed them some Gouda.

Not to worry, Robbie. If the guy I talked to today is any indication, these are good people. I already said something of expectations, and he's right in tune with us.

Well, this sure is great news, and it would be dead cool if they'd come down to Dijon.

And for the expectations part... we're all only amateurs, and I guess that says it all. If they give recommendations that's great, but I'm sure they know what they can expect of us.

David that is great.

Mic, I don't consider myself an amateur. I consider myself a hobbyist. That's even worse.

Robbie,
No matter how good or bad you are, just think of all the great stuff you are going to learn. Be a sponge and soak it all up. Most musicians that are better than me have always been gracious with showing me new things. Of course, at my age there aren't many left that are better than me. (Ok that last line was actually hard to write, even as a joke).
Have fun, have fun, have fun.

Thanks Chuck, you are right.

And it sometimes is even the other way around. I do learn from my students, and quite a lot.

No, it isn't! And you know why?

Because you show more love and commitment towards music, than many of the people I studied with... and those were meant to be Pros... or future Pros.

You're not a Hobbyist, you're a musician!

Michel, I usually don't kiss on a first date. In this case however...

Okay, new rule. No guy kissing at DijonStock. Girls can kiss, but only if we can watch.

Basso...I would disagree, but the last few older than you just passed away.

New piece of news...

I think I told you guys about the lead guitarist who might come to DijonStock. He is THE BEST there is in the region, if not most of France. Well he's going to do a tour of North Africa, and will be back just before DijonStock. My bassist told him about it yesterday, and he just flipped out...thought it was a great idea. So, he says he's coming.

I'll put this up on the web site once I get the band from Paris booked in.

This is starting to get pretty crazy.

Do I need to mention anything on the site? I will change the pictures, but I will do that tomorrow. The project week at school was a huge succes, the director even came over to give me a compliment (yep!) so the man in the ivory tower noticed. But I'm exhausted.

I'll write something up Robbie; don't sweat it. I've had my real-life butt kicked pretty hard myself these past three weeks, so we do what we can.

What's amazing to me is the response I am getting suddenly from the home crowd.
