Guess who showed up at my house yesterday? That's right, Ralph. Roamin' Ralph, Hogtime dropped by on his annual excursion through the west. He took my wife and I out for some Mexican food and then we sat around for a couple of hours picking and telling stories. He spent the night out in his camper and he will be leaving sometime this morning. Ralph is a great guy and I'm proud to have him as a friend. And I met him right here.
Good luck in your travels Ralph!

Chuck

Sorry. Only in my head. There is a pic of us somewhere on this site from his first visit. We look exactly the same. Just add 4 or 5 years to that.
Ralph is a good human bean.

Good times!!

If you ever find your way to Ontario, Canada Ralph -- Drop Me a Line.

For the record - Here is a Link to a tune we recorded a few years back - in fact the bed tracks were one of the very earliest project I undertook on the 1600 in the first year of ownership. Later the mix was reworked and the violin was added. The composer is the same guy who wrote The Seven Headless Horsemen, the tune I submitted to the Comp 2008 CD project. You and I were neighbors on that Playlist, as you may recall.

Drop Me A Line - The DANNs.mp3

I am serious, if your travel leads you across the border - Drop Me A Line.

It was definitely fun seeing Chuck again. Been around 3 years. We got some good pickin' and grinnin' in. Nice to have a good friend along my travel route! Since he goes to work early, I got to go to bed early.

Now I'm on my way to Montana!

Hi,

I always enjoy to read about face to face contacts from forum members here.
Sad that Ralph is so far away ... a mobil home meeting would be great.

BTW: Robbie, Dirk: we have a gig at the 26.11.2011 in a nice local music pub here http://www.pinte.info/. For some songs where I play Dobro and Harp we could need a bass player. No need to do rehearsal before! We know a lot about the pub and the audience there, so we plan to do the gig like a jam session and see how it goes, think HS I+II ;-). Oh, and a recording assistant would be great.

Andreas

Let me talk to the Queen. I might be a volunteer.

Feel welcome to do your second gig. I can not promise a perfect performance but a lot of fun. My band mates like the idea to invite you for some songs that are easy to play without knowing them .

Andreas,

Is this invitation still open? I do have a few practical problems that need addressing. The most important of which being the need of winter tyres in Germany?

When I drive my car in Germany end November, are winter tyres obligated? Or does it depend on the weather?
