A new brand of Dutch cheese recently showed up on my grocer's shelves - Landana. There were several varieties, but the ones that looked most interesting to me were:

Chili - yep, I love spicy food, so kaas with hot chilis in it certainly appeals on the outside. The taste told a different story. This was basically red wax "Gouda" with some modest heat from the chilis, but no added flavor. Wouldn't buy this again, but I'll eat what I bought. :?

Aged 1000 days - this was very firm and rich, much like the Beemster X-O. A real winner in my book. 8)

http://www.landanakaas.com shows quite a few interesting cheeses with various herbs and flavors added. Some look quite interesting - will have to keep my eyes open.
