Half of it is already on its way to becoming hot sauce. The other half soon to follow. Man, you haven't had your sinuses cleared until you've thrown hot peppers into a pot of boiling vinegar.

A nice haul there farmer JM. Nothing like some good hot pepper sauce to wake up the taste of food.

Oh man I miss my garden..."You had me at Pepper!!"

I saw Jalapeno's, Seranno's, Cayenne, Habenaro's, Yellow Banana Peppers and I think some Cherry Peppers. What did I miss?

On a related note as a public service anouncement for all:

Beware of residual pepper oil soaking into skin and transferring onto any sensitive mucous membrane of yours or a significant other. Hypothetically speaking should your significant other want some one on one quality time without warning in the middle fixing up some salsa....Lets just say the warm up time can turn into a not so happy very hot time.

Don't ask me how I know this LOL.

It will definately kill the mood and leave you lets say unsatisfied. Of course there is still some salsa to console yourself with after profuse apologies and feeling pathetic without any real means of offering assistance.

 I have a friend whose co-worker shares a similar tale of intimacy gone horribly wrong after working with hot peppers. I use disposable rubber gloves and take that stuff seriously. The first year I really grew a lot, I didn't wear gloves when I chopped them all up, and I couldn't sleep that night cuz my fingers were just burning all night long.

Good eye - you're 2 for 6. The pic includes 2 varieties of habanero, cayenne, hot lemon, tabasco, flourescent purple, Las Cruces, Santa Fe, Bahamas seafood, atomic starfish, and Caribbean hot. For the most part I tend to try and grow stuff off the beaten path (get seeds mail order), and try a few new varieties each year. It's starting to get out of control, cuz I harvest seeds from the ones I like for next year.

If you forego the rubber, one way or another you're gonna get burned.

 :D

Two six-year-olds watched a couple of newly-weds coming out of the church. Says one to the other "wait, I'll scare the hell out of the groom", walks towards the couple and yells "DADDY... DADDYYY!"

If I had some forewarning I certianly would have adapted my protocol.

I could never get comfortable working with rubber gloves for cutting peppers...to restricting for finger dexterity. Never had that problem with my fifth limb since it has no articulating joints.

Were comparing phyllanges versus pistons.

I did get myself with the contacts once and later determined that a could scrubbing with rubbing alcohol after the usual soap and water was pretty effective at resolving the after burn.

Speaking of burning units, when I was in the 7th grade, one of my friends used to buy a small bottle of cinnamon oil and soak toothpicks in it. Then he'd sell them to the kids for a few pennies each. So, I decided to try that. I bought the bottle and loaded it with flat toothpicks. I let them soak for a week. I was so excited the day I brought them to school. I started selling them right away. Then I needed to go to the bathroom. OMG, I've never felt burning like that before.

Here's your tip of the day: Don't touch pure cinnamon oil and then have to go pee. Makes for a disasterous outting. #-o
