My used Boss Dr 880 came yesterday. The machine is very nice - though he learning curve is gonna kill me. I have been using other gear that doesnt program anywhere near as this machine and it will take some getting used to.

I am excited about using this machine though - no more clunker drum machines. No more computer/midi setups with fake drum sounds.

Anybody else use this machine? Any pointers or tips?

I see your post was quite a while ago but I've got an 880..I love it!
I had mostly been just playing the pads on my recordings until just recently when I programed about a dozen
songs into it and played live in the local "Battle of the Bands"...It must of sounded pretty good since I finished second...I programmed the bass and drums ..and played with another guitar player..It was a lot of fun..I've since taken a couple of those tracks and recorded the songs and it worked really well and fast..
