Has anyone ever tried plugging an external usb hardrive into the usb on one of the Yammies, is it recognised?
Was curious but not enough to buy one if it does`nt work.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

If it does work, I'd use a flash stick or an SD drive. The disk drives are noisy, I have to keep my mic'ing area about ten feet away from the AW to minimize it's effect.

No can do. You have to use the transfer file to get wavs in and out of the machine.

When two devices are connected to each other, one is master (PC) and one is slave (HD). The AW is a slave as you can see its contents on your computer. An external HD is a slave too, so connecting a HD to the AW is like connecting one HD to the other. It's not going to work.

Not being able to plug in an external drive into the usb port is making my recording experience suck!

For those not familiar with the background:

Page 1
Page 2
Page 3
Page 4
Page 5
Page 6
Page 7

You have to use the above links to get to the pages. The links in the pages themselves do not work as the original forum does not exist anymore.

The blurbiness of all of those pages disgusted me. When I get blurby tone I just lash out at anyone within a 120 mile radius of Nashville.

It was weird seeing the Belushi avatar of Ccaptain; I remember that from 2004 when I bought my G and found the old forum. I wonder where these folks are now. Of course, I was myself encased in a block of carborundum from 2005-2013, hence my long silence.

OK, I must try . . . cheese. Yup, thought so. Cheese is not blurby.

I agree that is funny, but the relevance to my post is what??

What does anything have to do with relevance?

Everything is relevant, sadly even those that make sniping comments to try to amuse their best friend, baa baa.

An informative bit of local history. I was interested in seeing the names of posters, realizing that many of the contributors to the last comp album had been here for some years.

Geno (skygod) was noticeably absent. I am sure he would have had much to say, had he been about.

Question - When did Geno first appear in these parts? Was he already a member, but perhaps away, or did he join the group after this thread?

Jeez! I've never read anything like this before in this most gentlemanly of forums.

The guy's sheer arrogance! All that invective, :x all that hot air, all that abuse. It made me wonder just how much of that rage :angryfire: was based on his ignorance or just maybe some severe character deficits. I've never seen anybody with such scary anger management issues :banghead: . Still, that's enough about RZ - anybody know what ever happened to GS music?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Geno was a member at the time. I think he first appeared around the same time on the old forum as I did, April 2003.

Perhaps Geno was away flying some rich SOB and waiting for the return flight call.

Your inital post was discussed, and question answered. Thus, the thread promptly descended into drivel. It's the dijonstock way. :D

Geno was not yet a member of the forum at the time of the great GSmusic thread. I watched that mess unfold as a lurker, and didn't join the forum until a couple months later. I felt like an entrenched old-timer by the time Geno showed up...a year or two later?

As for Byron's comment about this being the most gentlemanly of forums, I agree, but it's because only the most civil have managed to hang around so long. Back in the day we had some pretty volatile presonalities and all the drama that went with them. Sadly, some good folk left because they got sick of it all. When Robbie first used dijonstock to collect the ashes of aw16g.com and begin anew, the moderator job was a full time (and often unpleasant) task.

Now, back to the original topic of the thread...can someone help me find the USB port on my aw16g? :?
