I connected my MPC2500 with the AW2400 but something is wrong.
When i skip a bar on the MPC it shows 002.01.00 but the AW shows 001.04
When i skip to the next bar it shows 003.01.00(mpc) and 003.01(aw)
Next bar 004.01.00(mpc) and 004.01(aw)
Next bar 005.01.00(mpc) and 004.04(aw)
Next bar 006.01.00(mpc) and 005.04(aw)

Why is it sometimes off?

I hope someone can help me

So it seams no one knows what the problem is or how to fix it.
Its not a big deal but i was wondering why on some bars its off an on the other bars its in sync.

I'm not a midi user, but i have synced my machines on occasion. I would look on page 199 of the 2400 manual. Do you have a manual? I just went to the docs page on this site and see there is no 2400 manual there. Perhaps we should post a digital copy.

At any rate on page 199 there is discussion of an offset adjustment, sometimes needed when the AW is used an MTC slave. You will find this on the second page display under the MIDI button on your AW. Maybe there is some tweak needed there. Remember that when the Aw display shows the measure/beat as X.04, it does not mean you are at the start of that beat. But rather it indicates you are somewhere within that beat. I would use the jog function to discover just how far off the machine is. You may find you are but one or two clicks of the wheel away from the actual top of the next measure.

That's the best i can do for a suggestion. I would be interested to know what you come up with for an explanation. You gave examples of the first few measures. Would this "error" compound as the measures accumulate within a song? How is that for a newbie question?

Yes I have the manual but it dosent work because i think it only works when the MTC ist set to Slave but i have it on Master


Its two clicks away when i use the jog function
example: MPC 002.01 AW 001.04 00:00:02:23:70 is off
AW 002.01 00:00:02:23:72 is correct

Here are my settings
AW: Song settings - Display = Time Code 30
Midi - MMC = Slave
Midi - MTC = Master
Midi - Sync out = Midi Clock

MPC: Sync in(slave) = Midi Clock
Recieve = MMC on

Sync out(master) = Midi Time Code 30
Send = MMC on

Maybe my settings are totaly wrong but its the only way(i think) to controll the AW with the MPC

Here are some links from a google search I spent a short while reading. They seem to indicate you have little to worry about, I think.

The number that is variant in your display is that number that shows the sub frames. Sub frames are the 100 sub frames contained in a single frame. (the number in the preceding section of the display) At 30 frames per second, each subframe represents a very short length of time. The scheme is based upon other factors that are explained somewhat in the first of the two links, so to be two sub frames off at any particular moment in real time appears not to be an issue. ???

Perhaps someone will come a long to further explain and /or correct, but if the offset appears not to be greater or "grow" throughout the song, I'd not worry about it and accept it as something that you do not have enough "geek" in yourself to further pursue.
