Hello again to all you yammie heads

After a long search I finally found an affordable 2400 and picked it up yesterday, got it home turned her on and loaded the demo song, only song on the HD,Then this morning after looking for useful tips on here I found someone saying do not load the demo song as it may cause the 2400 to malfunction.

Before I start recording today should I reformat the HD.

cheers Jasper

Greetings. Gratz on the 2400. Formatting was probably a good thing. But all the demo song does is show you what can be done with automix, fx, eq etc. When all that data saved to a scene (generally to be able to use automix), the new songs you create carry over that crap. Therefore, you could have just diengaged the automix and initialized the scene. However, you did the right thing. Ask Robbie!

Yes, the Demo song is not bad in and of itself. the problem lies, as Ron said, with the fact that the settings do not change when a new song is called up from the list. This is true of any change in the current song. The demo song is particularly bad because a competent user has, for demonstrative purpose, utilized settings of which the newbie user has no idea. So the machine seems to go "wonky".

As suggested knowledge of how scenes work and when/how to call up a new scene from which to begin/proceed is very important. Particularly when using the automix on your new 2400. You will like your new machine I am sure. Ask your questions as we can certainly help ramp up your learning curve.

HAHA - yes, very wonky! I remember those early days well. Unfortunately!

And yes, I agree with Robbie - formatting:
