As much as I like the track sheet, I really wanted something that would let me know at a glance what was on each recorded track. So I came up with this fader cheat sheet. It allows you to scribble down the instrument or vocal that is on each track. If your memory is as bad as mine, all you have to do is glance down below each fader to recall what you did 5 minutes before.

The best thing is it stays in place pretty much from static.

That's what it is for. Hope it works for you. I am able to jot small notes like amp settings for guitar, etc. there is just enough room.

This is the sheet I used for my latest parody. What was fun was instead of listing the instruments, I listed the Beatle. Since it was a pretty straight forward song, it really helped me notice which faders I had left to work with.

After wrapping the recording,. I printed off another set of these and this time, I left space on the edges to hold a magnet. Now they stay nicely in place. Just hope the magnet doesn't cause any harm to the recorder.

hello,
i have been using a similar system on my aw4416 consoles ...
i found that making small individual magnetic labels (bass, kick, guitar R, guitar L etc ...) by using a label maker and plastic magnetic sheets ... this allowed me to label channel strips AND recorded monitor channels (which do not always align up on the console) ...
these little name magnets can be stored on any metal surface (or to the outside edges of the console) and placed on the board wherever needed, as required ...
i have not noticed any "magnetic" ill effects from the board during use ...
of course, there is no room for scribble notes ... i use a notebook for those
