I returned the T1 and bought the Mic Mechanic. EVERYONE should own a mic mechanic. I will post video this weekend, hopefully.

The MM had the same compression and EQ algorithm as the T1. It also adds subtle pitch correction and reverbs. For the first time in my recording career, I think I recorded something with the right amount of reverb!

Here's the biggest part. I recorded the same track with an MXL 4000 condenser mic and a Samson S12 dynamic mic. I honestly could not tell the difference. Seriously.

If you haven't seen or hear of one, I highly recommend you look it up!

I was going to do a video showing how the mic mechanic works. You can hear it really well in the room. The microphone on the camera adds compression, and as a result, all of the stuff that needed to be tuned got compressed out by the camera.

Maybe all this time all I needed to do was record vocals on my camera!

I`ve been reading some good reviews about this unit, their reverbs have always had a nice sound.
Enjoy.

Here are 2 examples with a dynamic and condenser mic and the mic mechanic. The mic on the camera adds compression, so you you can't hear the dramatic difference... but you can still hear a difference... and that means something!

I may add an audio file later... if anyone is interested. One is with a dynamic mic, the other with a condenser mic.

I've attempted to take audio from a video camera. Some time ago I may admit, so technology will have changed, but the compression added on that Hi8 camera made the vocal acceptable for audio-visual playback, but to extract only the audio and attempt to master (sweeten) the sound to make it an enjoyable audio experience was somewhat futile, as i recall - it was a while back.
