Everything is subjective. What may sound lovely to one ear, may sound like dirt to another. Pro's buy higher end stuff because . . . well because they can. Having a home studio for fun rather than profit allows us to spend what we can afford to get the best sound we can achieve. Regardless of what the critics remark about our music, the fact remains, we made it outselves at home in our studios. It's our entertainment, it's our fun, our hobbies, our creative outlets.

I've heard marvelous stuff with an Art $29 pre and lousy stuff with a $2000 one. It's not so much about the equipment as it is how to use it. The main thing is to use it.

Cheers!
