I have an AW16G and recently I recorded a live set of my band for demo purposes. To make things easy I am editing one song at a time. To do this I am deleting the recorded info before and after the song that I am working on. The entire set takes up around 4GB of memory. After I delete the info before and after the song and save, the amount of memory it takes up is still the same(4GB). When I master and burn the song to a CD the amount of memory on the CD is what it should be for a song around 4 minutes long but is still 4GB on the hard drive. What can I do to get back the space on my hard drive so I can get more than 3 or 4 songs at a time on my AW16G's hard drive? Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks, Mekev2.

You are experiancing a bug that reports the available HD space. One way to reclaim it is to backup what you want and reformat the drive.

Not only a bug in the HD space report, the optimize function sucks big time too. So, "air" is not deleted from the files. I bet a backup will indeed take 4 GB worth of CD's.

A workaround: make a new project. Copy the parts of the tracks that you want to keep to the new project. Delete the old project.

There is a way to move (parts of) tracks from one project to another, but I can't remember exactly how. I do remember Geno (MrSkygod) telling us about it.

Welcome to the forum Mekev. Enjoy your stay.

Thanks Robbie for pointing me in the right direction. MrSkygod's Export import tip does the job. It is alittle time consuming and tedious but it was just what I was looking for. It cuts the memory use to under 200MB per song. Much better that 4GB. Thanks again. Mekev2
