that photograph was taken last year i think late spring or early summer she was just 15 and 1/2. jennifer had been fooling about with cameras and we asked lys to have a look at her work maybe guide her a little (because we did not to spend a fortune getting her all the gear if there was nothing there) anyway lys was great about it and told us she has a tallent and should go for it the, upshot is at the end of the month she starts a creative photography course in Reed Kerr college.Lys has also set up sites for her to use.Jennifer has set one up for herself at http://www.pbase jenn_ _x Lys is a truely kind person and although she is quite shy (she will be 17 on sunday) he has shown a great deal of patience with her

Well, thanks Sharon, but aside from Jen being a cool young woman, it's abundantly clear that she has a talent to support her passion for photography.

I think she will do very well on this first step on the great journey of life - good luck Jen!

Sharon - here's a working link for Jens galleries

From the Chez Chapman garden - I'll just post stuff periodically from NiceStock as I work through it all.

Really great photo, as we've come to expect, Lys. Thanks.

Lys, sometime it would be nice if you would post a pre Photoshop pic and a post...I'd like to compare pics and see what you actually tweaked....

And since were on the topic, what digital camera would you recommend for under $400...We've had Canon's in the past and they have been more than decent overall, but our last Canon purchase was a SD300 model and we were less than impressed...it lacked the manual controls of our past ones...bought it because of the small size and ease of use(wife loved it)...thanks...
