Not that I'll need any excuse to 'sample' the wonderful red wines of La Belle France while in Nice, but an article in the Scotsman is now claiming that drinking red wine may protect against deafness caused by excessive noise.

Excuse sorted.

Wasn't "sampling" defined as small quantities?

Small quantity each of a very large variety, as I recall.

Non, sampling is a function of variety. If you intake the same thing, then you're drinking. If you continuely switch to something else, then you are sampling. :D

Just kickin' back "samplin'" an Haut Medoc. Ya know, at DijonStock we made a wine tour of the wines of Bourgogne (Burgandy). I think this time we should do the wines of Bordeaux--like where this fine one comes.

I still say the best wines in the world come from California...ah, no, I mean Bourgogne. I DID NOT SAY THAT. Bourgogne, not California. But the difference between Bourgogne and Bordeaux is that a cheap Bourgogne is awful, but from Bordeaux the same price will get you a very good wine.

I still have the bottle of Nuit St George which Jean Christophe gave me at DijonStock. From what I remember him saying, it should be at its best this year. Ann and I are waiting on a bit of news which will prompt occassion for the opening.

Blimey! Now that would have opened up possibilities for some serious sampling down in Nice 8) .

Whatever the occasion: I hope you'll get to enjoy every drip of that bottle, mate!
