We talked about this earlier on, and given the fact that NiceStock will come earlier than we all expect - let's take this a step further.

1. What song should we prepare and record at home, to mix down during NiceStock?

2. Which songs would we want to do live on the spot

I think some common starting point will keep stuff flowing and we'll be able to get together and start developing something. Maybe not 10-20 songs, but maybe 5 which will really rock.

...we'll do the impromptu jamming anyway, I guess, but like this, we'd have some material to start with.

Whatchasay?

One morning at Texastock and Don downloaded the lyrics to 4 or 5 rockers. We just went from there and it was a blast.

Been traveling and haven't been able to get at this post, MicE.

I know that we'll do Imagine together. Robbie wants to do something from...oh what was the name of that group?...I don't know but he's SUPPOSED to be digging up the chord charts and what not. I want to do Alright Now, which I couldn't do at DijonStock after having lost my voice the night of the concert. TuDan and Lys are to work something up and let us know, and it looks like most of Lys' band will be coming down...of course Nate and I have the Short playbook under our belts. And, some of it will be spontaneous jammin'.

My new German girlfriends (Lara and Lina...Heinz's girls...spent the weekend with them by the way; great girls the both of them) are going to come up with a list and so we'll have some basic tracks laid by the time you get here...Lara's looking forward to working with Robbie. And Lina, the elder, can really sing and does perfect harmonies with her sister. Hearing them sing acapella last night was really a treat...and Lina does a pretty cool caboret song and dance number (but I had to pour quite a bit of schnaaps down her to get her to do it...well worth the effort because she's simply marvelous).

So, just waiting to hear from others. I was hoping to do some Sleepless tunes as well.

EDIT: Had to spell Lara's name right before she sees it!

Ah, Robbie wrote...

I know he played it for me while driving around the Dutch countryside together; if I recall, it's not going to be easy--but all the better.

When I did DijonStock, I had some grand designs by renting that hall and us putting on a concert. It was far more effort than I imagined and we were lucky to have pulled it off. This time I wanted to be a little more laid back, but then again not to do just whatever...something inbetween DijonStock and TexaStock. I believe that most people enjoyed both venues, but the load of work at DijonStock really kicked mine and many others' butts. So, we record some basic tracks to try and put an album together, and do any finish work later by exchanging the files.

Incidently, anyone that wants to be a part of it by sending some files before July to have people add tracks, they'd be more than welcome to do so.

Ok, thanks for your feedback David.

In that case, let's just sit and watch :) .

Ross that is sooo cool.

I don't know if I want to do it as seriously as recording, but I'd sure like to jam on that tune! Thanks, Ross!!!!!!!!

Michel said he's give the second voice a try, and David's going to have a go on the guitar, I'll try and see if I can come up with some paperwork on that this week. Then I need another guitarist or keyboard player.

What is tentative? Is that good or bad? If it is good you're in :P

So, it is going to be: Ross: drums, Michel, 2nd voice, David: guitar, Chris: guitar, Robbie: bass&vocals.

Again, it is just to find out if I can do bass and vocals simultaneously when we're on stage.

Cool!

 Ro-bear, there is no stage! This is a recording studio, not an ampitheater! What we'll do is rehearse it together. Then to record it, we will play together but record only the drums, and later add back all the tracks. It will be wonderful.

Nate can do any keyboard synth work.

YOU HAVE NO STAGE ????

I didn't mean too literally, what I meant is having people watching you play, generating stage-fright (that is, I have that).

We'll rehearse it and see what happens.

Just send me an mp3, Robbie... that should help me prepare the vocal harmonies  .

Guess I'll bring the piano as well... It'd be nice to have an instro with me.

I'll send everyone involved an mp3. I'll also try to dig up some paperwork - if it exists.

I've got a synth with some nice piano patches, MicE, but of course you're welcome to bring anything you like--we'll wire it in. :D

Oh, speaking of which...you wrote a tune a while back that was piano and what, Geno added a cello synth? I'm sorry I don't remember the name of it, but I recall it being pretty good. Maybe you'd consider a possible arrangement of that?

You mean "Lullaby, right"? We could do that, sure. It would need some additional thinking though as I intentionally kept it very simple with as few things going on as possible ;-).
