We's gonna have ourselves a showdown. That's right...a western style shoot out.

Condensor Mics at High Noon.

On the dirt and ready to draw are:

Rodes NT1000
Rodes NT1
Audio Technica AT2020
Studio Projects B3
Behringer B2
KEL HM1

All up against a Neumann TLM103!! :D

Who'll be left standing before the sun goes down? The Germans? The Chinese? The Australians? The Canadians?

You'll be the judge by secret ballot. We will record each run through the same ClassA preamp in the same environment, and then we'll play them back in a blind taste test. Simple test...the one you like best get's your vote. Be careful to note each one, and the person that identifies the most mics correctly based on what they hear, will win a grand prize...you just might be the lucky one to go home with one of these fine microphones!! (no, not the Neumann).

:D

Cool! Each mic should be rated "blindfolded" by the team. 8)

If I just say I like the best one will that ensure victory?

David, what is for you the difference between the Rode NT1 and the Rode NT1000?

I would recommend using something like a Boss RC-20 loop station to record the performance, then play back through the amp using the looper.

That way, you can ensure that the performance is the same every time.

I don't have the Boss, but I do have the DigiTech JamMan loop recorder. It does up to 6 hours (!) on a 1GB flash card. Should be enough. I can bring it if it's needed.

I like the Lexicon... I was an early adopter tho and bought the first Boss RC-20 Loopstation in the state of Birmingham when they first came out.

I can't justify making the purchase... even for the additional recording time.
