Thought I'd dig a bit deeper here ;-).

What equipment shall we bring?

I was thinking about taking the Voiceworks and my Shure 58 on a journey.

Anything else that might be needed  ?

Michel

I'm probably just gonna bring my nylon strung.

Of course, everyone can bring anything they please (note to self: tell Robbie not to bring Gouda for 500 again), just as long as they bring themselves.

As for equipement, Studio ChâteauNeuf has about twice the equipement that StudioShort had at the time of DijonStock...many investiments have been made since then.

MicE, I have the Quintet which has all the harmony capacity of the VoiceWorks...and without a lot of elaborate MIDI stuff the pitch correction isn't much use. As for preamp, plenty of those. Maybe the '58 might get put to use. But again, bring whatever you think would be personally useful.

Apart from that, this time around we'll do more jammin'...I'm not going to rent a concert hall or anything--that was just too much work to make happen. However, I'm going to, once we know who's on board and for what days, have some of you prepare some MasterClasses. And they won't have to necessarily be about music...for example, I'm leaning on Lys to do a MC on photography...he certainly has enough course work under his belt to give a good hour lecture or whatever. I'd like to get Sleepy to talk about songwriting that might include writing something then and there with audience participation. I might myself do something on Mastering (learning gobs everyday...been doing a real study of it).

Further, I thought we might do some collaboration work together if planned ahead and people do their homework. I was thinking along the lines that we pick something and record all the pieces and parts, and then mix and master it together. Maybe more than one.

All that between the sightseeing tours I'm planning, the eating, the drinking, the swimming, general partying and conviviality.

Hey David

How about we agree on preparing 3-4 songs, which we could pull off both then, trying to get a "live version", and record some stuff beforehand - maybe the same songs to mixdown and master? I'm not much of a know-it-all, so some common repertoire might be useful?

Just thinking out loud though.

I would've brought the Voiceworks as an expensive preamp only... so I guess I'll leave it at home  .

Peace,

Michel

Yeah, I was kinda thinking along the same lines, Mic. Have some stuff ready before hand, record a few things and mix them down together.

Too...and likewise thinking out loud so this might sound kinda corny...but I had thought about something that every single one of us would participate in...kinda like a "We are the World" thing...together on the chorus, splitting versus up between us. I don't think I've ever heard Lys sing, but I'm sure it'd give it a certain character. :D And maybe get a few Stocker's that can't make it to throw in some instrumental colaboration.

That sounds like one hell of an idea 8) !

I could do the Micheal-Jackson-got-his-Ballz-kicked falsettos  .

No, honestly, that would be a great idea! That's one of the things I've missed last time... some serious pre-prepared thing to work on :D !

Groovy!

And if ya'd like, I could do one of them classes on vocal techniques...

Peace,

Mic

I'll take my bass. If I get the chance I'll bring some Gouda, but I realize that at Dijon, the quantity was a bit overdone. Nah... if it had been a party, just as big, but dutchmen only, it would not nearly have been enough

This time I'll bring tulip bulbs... or was it wooden shoes... err... windmills...

I'd love to prepare one song with a couple of others and I have one wish in particular. I'd really really love to play and sing "Love Games" by Level 42, having Nate on drums and Sleepy on guitar.

How about it, Nate & Richard? It would be an honour.

Okay...just a few things to mention about bringing along...

If you're a camper, you know what to bring. Beer.

If you're a swimmer, towels are a given, but the most important thing? Beer.

If you find need to take a bath, then you are a swimmer. And swimmers bring beer.

If you are a musician, you need bring only your skills. And beer.

If you are a young, gorgeous groupie, you know what musicians like: Beer.

If you like cheese, bring it...with Beer.

Finally, before I forget, I need to mention that you should not forget the beer.

And if despite all the hints given here you still don't know what to bring, you can always bring beer.
