Sounds good. Love the Alesis. My mate has an Alesis kit that has tightened mesh, very strange at first but once I had a play around with it for an hour or so I loved it.
Ain't technology wonderful :D

Thanks Mac! I've thought a few times of scaling down the acoustic and getting a bunch of pads around an electronic kit drum. Have a million sounds at your fingertips and can play at 1AM with nobody bothered haha

Good stuff Rayz...

How long does it take a drummer to "take" to electronic drums? Seems to me there would be issues of feel and size???

Bok - thanks for taking the time to listen to this musical "painting". Props to Byron for mixing the mess into something listenable.

As to the pads, I think it would just take some getting used to, and getting a feel for. Ive played on an electronic kit and it sounded great and was fun. I have a couple of Roland triggers attached to my kit that gives me some cool samples. Add that to the 4 pads on the Alesis, I have 6 programmable sources to record along with kit and percussion. Keeps me out of trouble!

The first half is an electronic kit for the toms and kick - but the cymbal swells are from the real kit. The second part, where the song rebuilds begins with the real kit, then the pads are brought back in as the song draws to the conclusion. the final tom hit, signifying the head dropping into the basket, is from the pads of course.

Although the subject matter is dark, this was a fun project to mix!!
