I blew my Event 20/20 monitors up about a year ago, so I've been in headphones because the neighbors disapprove of me using my giant 500 watt 15" Mackie 3 ways. :dontknow: After setting up my twin PC monitors in anticipation of new software goodies showing up soon, I remembered I had a panasonic home theater-in-a-box rotting away in the storage closet. I'm using the 3 way front speakers and the receiver/amp/dvd/cd/tape/am fm/karoke unit for a temporary monitor setup. The speakers have 3 pairs of wire going to them as they're tri-amplified. For ishty speakers these babies have an enormous amount of bass, crank louder than they need to, and sound amazingly good somehow......probably as good as my events used to. The imaging is also somehow fantastic. I have the EQ set to flat, and all audio processing turned off. I'm using a stereo 1/4" to RCA cable to get the sound into the amp. I was entertaining the idea of purchasing Mackie MR5 monitors, but I think I'll use these until they're dead.

:rr:

Oddly my studio engineer friend and I were talking about using studio monitors for his home theater setup. 8)
