I've been getting "DISK BUSY" messages so I decided it's time to give the USB 2.0 functionality on the 1600 a real hammering.

I transferred 15GB!!!!!!!!!!!!! of info onto my PC in 1 hour (30 mins per partition). Formatted the hard drive on the 1600 and copied everything back. No problems!

Now that's magic!

A dumb question.
When you format does this clear the whole drive including the software/factory samples ? Or does it only clear the saved work files ?

I am curious if they have partitioned the drive so you clear only the work , or that you have to start all over again and have to laod the software and samples every time you format..

That is not a dumb question.

The saved work goes, the samples go. The software stays.

thks.
That makes a lot of sense.
They have clearly partitioned and protected the software.
Reloading the samples isn't a problem.
Thks again Robbie
One for me for the future
