creating a guide track using pads-initially to save time.

I want to repeat a phrase over the course of the song, and then i will probably insert other phrases into this.
i tried using a pad to repeat it, however, despite doing it perfectly in monitoring, i can only get it to repeat one measure, or repeat with a gap.

The phrase is about 4 measures long, and has an odd time signature (like 3/4,3/4,3/4,4/4). all i need is to press the button repeating the whole loop and let it record the new parts but it wont let me. a second idea of repeating through the edit-copy would be time consuming as you have to find the end point each time!

When you edit/ copy you can specify how many times you want that patch to copy. assuming you set the start and end points correctly, you can seamlessly string together as many loops as you wish. Look in the bottom right corner of the Copy window and select a number .

thanks i realised my obvious mistake here quite quickly. oops. this was after working out the length of each phrase and adding it on with a calculator. some things are so easy to miss especially once your flow is interrupted you just want it to work!
