Hi all, after reading the other day that there is a program called Aware Audio (used to be supermonkey or something like that)that will extract Yamaha`s back up files from disc, I thought I would give it a go for the hell of it !!
But for some reason it does`nt work?
The file on the disc is a rar file, containing the relevant back up files but the program is asking for CFS AND 16G files, of which there is`nt any, does that mean I can`t use it as I have the AW1600?
Thanks.
T.

Hi T.Mac. I don't know the 1600 but i do know that a rar file is the same thing as a zip file or a compressed folder. It just uses it's own compression algorhythm. There is a program called winrar (google it) which you can download to unpack these files. I don't think it's free. If you download 7Zip instead (google this too) you will have a freeware tool that allows you to unzip (or unrar or decompress) the file first. My guess is that the aware audio will work on the resulting file.

Yes, all the files are there except the CFS AND 16G files which the program is asking for.

As far as I know,

AWare only works with 16G backups, or 2816 and 4416 backups. I don't believe that it will work with standard 1600 backups.

However, if you create your backups on the 1600 in 2816 format, than AWare should work. However, you can only create 2816 backups on the 1600, when using 16 bit recording.
