Any suggestions on how best to record two acoustic guitars simultaneously? Room size is about 12 by 10...use two condenser mics I assume...should the mics be facing opposite directions? any other important factors to consider?

Thanks.

I'ld first try the old point 'em at the 12th fret or where the neck joins the body. Using this method you outa have good stereo sep. I might be inclined to set an Omni to get some of the room in if it sounds good. The X-Y might be the ticket. Whatever sounds good between yer ears is what you should use.

I think DC's old "3 to 1 rule" would apply, keeping the distance between the two mic's at least 3 times the distance of each mic to each guitar.

Thanks...what I was referring to was the process of recording two acoustic guitar players at once...

Like both aforementioned suggestions

You, Uncle Bob, a wiseasssssss? Unfathomable

Actually, poor choice of words...should have used the word "set up" instead of process....eg., player placement, distance apart, mic angles and direction...

Have you checked out the AKG "White Paper" section.

I'm not sure if there is anything there specifically dealing with two guitars, but there is a lot of info about mic choice, placement, and configurations there.

And it's free to download! ! !
