hi,
i have a question about my aw16G.
i had seen a in/out for midi in my workstation, what is the idea?
has the aw16g any midi files? if i buy a midi pad what can i do?
it's like a midi sound module, with many sound (strings, piano, bells, ...)?
or has something to deal with the sample, just a easy way to play the samples (rain , drum1, etc)?

let me know thanks

The midi ports are for syncing with other midi gear. The AW can send midi clock or midi time code. Other gear can receive this and sync with it. That way, your midi instruments can play in sync live at mixdown time and never need to be recorded onto the AW itself. This could save tracks on the AW for other purposes.

You can also access faders, pans, effects, etc. using midi commands so you can do some amount of mixdown control using an external sequencer. This isn't quite as powerful as motorized faders on the bigger models but it could give you a little finer control of a mixdown than scenes.

The midi in connector is used for midi input from the midi out (or thru) of another device. The midi out passes midi info from the machine itself.
The thru output produces a copy of the midi in port to be passed (or chained to other devices) . Your G has a dedicated MMC (midi machine code) out which sends a special sysex message for external tape transport controls (another G chained for instance).

Hope this helps
