There's a chance (albeit very small) I'm going to record a brass band (brass and drums). I'll probably be able to use some of the experience of the men's choir, but there are a lot of differences. The sound pressure for instance is incredible.

I was wondering if someone could give me advice, for instance on micing and how to handle sound pressure you can feel in your chest.

Hard to offer any advice without knowing the context, i.e., the environment, that you'd be working in.

I did brass. It was a big, metal space...like a warehouse almost...with offices built inside like cracker boxes here and there. I close mic'd the brass with dynamics. Worked well.
