I am recording on the ES.
Trck 1= Trumpet 1
Trck 2= Trumpet 2
Trck 3= Trombone
Trck 15/16 strings
Track 13/14 = stereo piano (Brite Piano)

My question is:

1) When recording the trumpets.............should I pan them left and right before recording onto the AW?
2) When mixing Trumpets and the Trombone ( which un this recording has quiet some solos) can I leave the Trombone on the same volume level throughout the mix because they only are leading when the trumpets are silent?
3) In this arrangement how should I place the strings and which priority would they take? I assume they should be used as a "filler" as long as there is no lead for them to take?
4) Now the piano...................it should be panned centered, right? What would happen if I pan it medium left or right ( L10/R16 or opposite)

Most of all.

Should I use the reverb/ effect send options on the ES before recording to the AW?

Thanks in advance,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NOn cheese this time 8)

Someone said it again.

However I don't like "no" and "cheese" in one sentence. Talking about panic...

I'ld pan the horns off to one side or the other. Say trumpets L9 panned , bone the other side , R3..

Pianos sound unnatural panned full opposite. Depending on the patch , try L10 / R2 and work from there.

String respond well to full panning L/R.

The ES's effects are way too strong IMO . Just turn the master effect switch off on the MO while you record and add effects later during mixdown.

These outa get you in the ballpark.........work from there.
