today I'm gonna try and record some guitar parts with a mic on the amp and a direct in from the direct box on the guitar...I read about this and the author said it took some of the mushiness out of the guitars...the author wasn't very detailed about how to mix the sounds, etc...just thought I'd run it by you kind folks and see if there are any "tricks" I should know about before I am sorely disappointed...have any of you guys done this and if so did you like the results?

From the sounds of it, it would probably work on a mildly overdriven sound, but my guitar gain is set to full satan so I fear that there is too much difference to be able to mix it...I'll post what I think when I"m done.
