36. bucks at walmart.
Id use it for the car to run a 4 track and maybe some phantom for the mic.
I have one now and it's Winter over here in Connecticut. Although it dosen't really seem like it..it's about fiddy degrees now.
I was wondering if anyone would advise against this sort of thing, I know I've already brought it up once but now I'm ready to try it.
Should I return this inverter or hold onto it for something else?

Got a 1998 Ford Tauras SE with 155 thou on it.

Still insisting that you can only sing in the car, Joel?

I looked at the specs in the manual, and it doesn't say how much it draws. I have a 80 watt converter from 220 to 110 that goes to the power supply of a Yammy mixer. That is, until I hit phantom power. Fogettabouit. I looked at the power supply for the G and it says 45 watt input. You should be covered that way...though the output is over a couple of amps. Phantom power may be noisy.

Well,I feel as if I'm at least on the right track..hopefully my battery won't drain because of a faulty low power indicator on the inverter!
Yeah, I better try to cater to my Streisand like needs if I'm ever going to get anything going with legitamate material thats good.

Thank you DC. You've been a great help to me. Even just by listening to my garble. I wonder if I took it a step further and brought the G with me instead of the 4 track and risked outtages and/or moisture inside the G from CVold weather to warm?

power in watts = voltage times current

solving for current we get about 2.6 amps .

A simpler solution is .....looking at my power supply it says 16V dc @2.4 amps. hmmmm With all that fancy dancy stuff said.....


OK why not try running direct to your cigarette lighter in your car like I do. When the motor is running the battery terminal voltage is about 15.5 volts (plenty close enough) at the alternator's voltage regulator cutoff point . (Voltage when the regulator turns off the alternator to prevent overvolting the battery) Even at 12.6 volts DC (the normal resting battery terminal voltage ) the power is within a 15% undervolt. Usually stuff is designed to be 20% above or below a certain value anyway and an undervolt will certainly not hurt anything I'm aware of. I have car battery powered mine about a half dozen times now with no ill effects or noise artifacts.

Caution !!!!!!!!!!!Observe polarity when you make up your power adaptor cable. Positive is wired to the CENTER of both end connectors.

Yeah, true enough...but there's not regulating that supply...and no isolation. I'd feel much better having that isolated power supply between me and my expensive recorder.

You've actually hooked up your 4416 to a cigarette lighter??

ISOLATED POWER SUPPLY- I have a special powerstrip I bought at a music store that is supposed to make any current pretty much noiseless. It has a circuit breaker, naturally. It was about 60 to 80 bucks. I'd most likely use that as hooked up the Inverter and the inverter hooked up to my car battery via the cigarette lighter.

I would be parked of course and have the ignition in the "behind" the starter position drawing solely from the car battery and not running much else.

But...it IS Winter and my battery may have a tantrum with all this..still I think I should at least try it because I've been sche,meing it for a frew years now.

I learned how to sing (and a couple other things) in my '65 Mustang. Not sure how the Tauras compares.
