I was reading an interview with Nile Rogers in this months Sound on Sound where he is talking about how he and Bernie Edwards came up with their seminal disco classic Le Freak...

New years eve in New York in 1976. Nile and Bernie had been invited down to Studio 54 by Grace Jones to talk about some material they were writing for her. Ms Jones, however, neglected to leave their names at the door and the doormen would not let them in. They had to trudge home to Nile's apartment through the snow in their $1,000 suits and evening shoes. They were mightily pissed off. Stopping to pick up some champagne to celebrate the new year, they went home and hooked up their instruments for a good cathartic jam session. They were playing around with a riff they had, the one which has since become so famous, and Niles started to sing a hook line, over and over, with Grace Jones, and the whole elitist NY club 'scene' in mind....

aaaaaaaaAAA...FUCK OFF!
