The dutch have never been very convincing. In anything.

Except for making slaves 300 years ago.

Oh, c'mon...you and I both know that his 'orrible cockney accent nearly ruined Mary Poppins......that and the fact that the "Step in Time" chimney sweep number goes on for about twenty minutes. :?

jim you just can't mean that....................... :o

actually i was kind alluding to that earlier in this thread.

plus i believe skygod is looking for a british accent - not cockney.
big difference, right.

i was just teasing the the van dyke stuff.

i am sure what msg has in mind is very classy and cool.

Yeah, I know. There's proper British, there's cockney, then there's Dick Van Dyke chimney sweep. Three very different things.

Actually, a year or two or three ago, Anndra put up a link to a site with multitides of recordings of folk from all areas of the UK - sort of a study of the various dialects. It was most interesting. It made the "proper British vs. cockney" thing seem the equivalent of saying there are two kinds of guitars - electric and acoustic.

Hi Geno.
I'm English but not sure of the accent you need . I am not what we English call "Plumb" which is the very posh and sounds like you talk with a plumb in your mouth.

If you want me to give it a go , and you don't get any better offers , I'm up for it.

Tell me what you need.

Ray

I'd say Americans are generally (and highly) regarded as the good-guys in Scotland. I'm not sure how the English view you as a nation.

Well , I think most English think of Americans as that Brash naughty nephew that we Tut Tut at , but privately would like to be, and we feel closer to than our cousins in Europe.
Though from my visits over the years it seems to me that America is changing with the Black people now becoming the upper middle class , and the Hispanic people growing in number at a scary rate... but then I suppose we all change , London is starting to feel like Eastern Europe and change is not always a bit thing.

No worries, am out today ( anniversary) , but am teaching(guitar) tomorrow so will have guitar stuff set up so may have time to play around then.
I am racking my brain for some good accents. I have a female friend with a very Plumb accent , so I will see what I can do

Ray

'Scuse me?

Johann Cruyff & Ajax - 1971,72 & 73 - European Champions and the greatest club football side that ever existed.

The Oranji of '74 were the greatest international team.

Wash yer mouth out, Robbie :D

Beg to differ Rob...Don't forget the artificial heart, the CD(in tandem with Japanese), the electrocardiograph, and, now though they didn't actually invent it, they've certainly perfected it...CHEESE. :cheese:
